There is also a question of whether or not they are targeting the random search to people of a certain gender or race. It has been rumored that the search is not always random and that there may be a reason. For example they may automatically "randomly" search a male who looks middle eastern. There are many problems with airport security and the question is do all these extreme actions taken hurt us more than it benefits us and are they truly necessary to ensure our safety?

Free Write on Airport Security
Since September 11th terrorists attacks airport security has been increasing each year. These attacks scared Americans and people all over the world and now airport security has changed forever. The airports are trying to ensure our safety, but when will the extreme measures end? There are now full body scanners that can see under your clothes and the alternative option to this is a full body pat down which includes butts, genitals, and breasts. There are many people have problems with each of these options. The full body scan also emits radiation, which can be a health problem. My mom has thyroid problems and can only have so much radiation and when we went to the airport they treated her like a criminal because she refused to go through the body scanner for health reasons. In my opinion airport security has gone too far already and there is no way of knowing if it will become even worse. It is violating people's personal space and privacy. Travelers are also limited to the size of liquids they may take on an airplane because of the people who tried to bring liquid bombs on the plane. I do not understand why they had to take such extreme measures when they caught the men who were trying to get the liquid bombs through security.
